Throughout his career, Pires developed and refined E&I as an award winning program for innovation, leadership development, strategy execution and value creation globally.
Pires is an advisory board leader and keynote speaker for several global conferences on innovation, operational excellence, leadership development, strategy execution, business transformation, customer engagement and growth acceleration.
He holds a Bachelor in Engineering Physics from the University of Kansas and a Master in Business Administration focused in Investment Banking and Entrepreneurship from the University of San Diego.

I have dedicated more than 30 years to the petroleum industry holding several international technology positions in Repsol. I am particularly focused on the value added to the E&P Business by new technologies in the field of Geosciences, and presently related to the Digital Transformation in the E&P Business.
I am a strongly believer that the maximum value added by a Geoscience Division within an Oil Company comes from the development of Proprietary Technologies and their application through careful execution of In-house Integrated Projects combining Innovation, Transversal Know-How Integration of different Geophysical and Geological Disciplines and Close Interection with Interpreters and Engineers from Exploration and Development during all execution phases.
I have received an award from IEEE Spectrum in 2008 for the Kaleidoscope Project recognizing one the most innovative projects of the year 2007, and another award from Platts recognizing the most Commercial Technology of the year in 2009. In 2018 I received the Repsol´s INN Award recognizing my innovative projects in Digital Transformation in Repsol.
I have authored and coauthored numerous technical papers presented in International Conferences. I am also frequent key note speaker in Conferences, and participant in panels regarding Digital Transformation in E&P.
